From the artist:

Drawing in its most rudimentary form is simple marks and lines made to collectively form an image or a sign. We as a species are driven to make and give meaning to ‘signs’ that evoke our senses. I’ve long been interested in semiotics, an investigation into how meaning is created and how meaning is communicated, and its role in developing cognitive, cultural, and visual use of a ‘sign’, a ‘signifier’, and the ‘signified’. The Drawings: Sigils series explores how people can see the same sign and interpret its significance and concept completely differently. How a sign may be hallowed to one person, but vile to another; how the same sign can be interpreted as superior in one culture, but inferior in another. How do we as humans may see the same thing but “see” things differently
